A. WAYNE ROBERTS
SOFTWARE ENGINEER
I am a highly motivated and detail-oriented software engineer and Marine Corps veteran with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Western Governor's University and an Associate of Science in Software Development from Ivy Tech Community College. My professional journey has provided me with diverse experiences, ranging from serving in the military, where I honed my leadership and technical skills, to roles in account management and insurance, where I leveraged my abilities to develop automation scripts to improve internal processes for myself and my colleagues.
Throughout my career, I have consistently sought opportunities to utilize and expand my technical expertise. I have a strong foundation in full-stack development, with proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, C, and C++. I am particularly passionate about developing innovative software solutions and have experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI), demonstrated through my capstone project at WGU, where I designed a full-stack application that used a machine learning (ML) model for vehicle classification. I have further developed this project to incorporate elements of Computer Vision (CV). My experience with Linux, cloud technologies, and various database systems, further complements my technical abilities.
Beyond my professional experience, I actively engage in continuous learning and exploration of emerging technologies. This includes hosting a home lab and designing and maintaining a Home Assistant OS instance by repurposing x86 machines into various implementations such as an Ubuntu server and a Home Assistant server, and experimenting with various AI, ML, and CV technologies. I also manage all aspects of my home network, ensuring its security and optimal performance. I am an avid PC gamer and stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in technology.
